Divine Delarom – Parisienne Skincare

If you follow my blog you will know that I’m a huge fan of Parisienne skincare.  No country quite understands the skin as much as our friends across the channel. I was first introduced to Delarom by those in the know purveyors of beauty Urban Retreat, I wrote about how much I loved the brand way back… Read More Divine Delarom – Parisienne Skincare

The Perfect Polish for less than Perfect Nails

I’m one of these people whose nails just don’t grow.  Ooo how I covet friends glossy nails, celebrity trends for pointy, sculpted and arty talons. I’ve tried vitamins, oils, buffers, polishes, nail polish so ‘glue like’ the Solvite man could hang in his white overalls from a helicopter for weeks… (If born after 1985 try… Read More The Perfect Polish for less than Perfect Nails

DELAROM Paris – Urban Retreat at Harrods

I write this blog today as a reformed character. I’ve spent years abusing my skin by not taking off make up, too much sun, coffee, alcohol, and late nights have added ‘life’ lines! Natural Beauty at Urban Retreat Boutique

I’ve been pretty lucky with my skin when I consider the dreadful things I’ve put it through over the years.  I didn’t have acne or problem skin as a teenager and thought the whole skincare routine (cleanse, tone, moisturise) was a little boring. I used water and a muslin cloth for most of my 20’s… Read More Natural Beauty at Urban Retreat Boutique

About Honest Woman

I'm a florist who has recently gone back to her roots. From running a busy Florists business in Brighton and London, I've turned my back on city life relocated back to the rural Durham countryside to live at a slower pace.

I'm hoping to continue floristry by using traditional seasonal practices. No single use plastics or floral foam. I'll be providing Wedding flowers and Farewell flowers as well as lots of workshops and short courses.

Connecting to the countryside also means growing my own flowers and importing less from Holland and Ecuador where the majority of the UK's flowers are grown.

Until the 1970's we grew our own flowers in the UK now we fly them in. Crazy isn't it? Buying local flowers means less airmiles and because they are not refrigerated the smell like flowers!
