Sunday Supplement #39

Hello! How are you all for a Sunday? I had a couple of days off this week with Mr. B, no holiday, no time abroad or even an overnight hotel stay.  Instead, we opted for a staycation, that’s right a week at home in the Boston Abode, time to reset, recharge and do all the jobs… Read More Sunday Supplement #39

Dining Room DIY

Now is the Moment to Rescue a Wreck

Late last year me and Mr B moved into our new home.  We had gone from a very trendy central Hove location, regency mansion building, sea views.  The location was amazing but after 10 years in a beautiful flat the size and potential of it had become exhausted. So we made the move out of… Read More Now is the Moment to Rescue a Wreck

Dec The Halls

Shopping for Christmas trees the possibilities are endless, Pine? Spruce? Fir? where to begin? First things first. How big do you want your tree? Theres no point buying a 9 foot tree when you only have a small space. Measure the space. If your space is small go for potted trees or more than one.… Read More Dec The Halls

It’s all about the house this week at Honest Woman HQ.  Almost completed on our new house and weekend thoughts turned to decoration….. So setting off with only a handful of change, Mr B and I descended upon Brighton car boot sales and flea markets….. Now I’m not a fan of the smell of second… Read More Love is Like a Butterfly…

About Honest Woman

I'm a florist who has recently gone back to her roots. From running a busy Florists business in Brighton and London, I've turned my back on city life relocated back to the rural Durham countryside to live at a slower pace.

I'm hoping to continue floristry by using traditional seasonal practices. No single use plastics or floral foam. I'll be providing Wedding flowers and Farewell flowers as well as lots of workshops and short courses.

Connecting to the countryside also means growing my own flowers and importing less from Holland and Ecuador where the majority of the UK's flowers are grown.

Until the 1970's we grew our own flowers in the UK now we fly them in. Crazy isn't it? Buying local flowers means less airmiles and because they are not refrigerated the smell like flowers!
