Sephora Haul

When Mr B announced he was going to New York with work for a week in January I felt a little green with envy.  Then I remembered one of the basic rules of marriage.  If the husband travels abroad with work thou shalt be rewarded upon his return with gifts.  I think the marriage certificate… Read More Sephora Haul

Clarins – Honest Beauty

No trip to France would be complete without a beauty cache. I know from previous trips that you can’t go wrong in a French Farmacie. Rows and rows of unpronounceable names, French bottles filled with potions and lotions to beautify. My cousin stockpiles her favourite brands like Biotherm Micellular Water, when she travels to France and saves… Read More Clarins – Honest Beauty

The Best Cleansing Waters

I think it was a Couple of years ago that I read “wipes are for babies bottoms not for your face” from the fabulously straight talking beauty blogger Caroline Hirons. I don’t think I’ve used a cleansing wipe since. Wipes leave a sticky residue on your face which I always end up washing off. For… Read More The Best Cleansing Waters

Five of the best Fake Tans

I’m not really one for fake tan.  I tan easily and spend a lot of time outside so I usually end with an olive glow which Mr B calls my farmers tan. However due to this week’s inclement weather, I feel myself reaching for the bottle! Now having tested what’s on the market at the… Read More Five of the best Fake Tans

Italian Summer Fig – The Body Shop

No three words sound better to me than ‘Italian Summer Fig’ I love the smell of fig, the house if full of fragrant fig candles that fill the air with sweet perfume and tell me, what’s better than Italy in the Summertime? The Italian riviera, the countryside, the Amalfi coast, the sea, and sand. So when… Read More Italian Summer Fig – The Body Shop

About Honest Woman

I'm a florist who has recently gone back to her roots. From running a busy Florists business in Brighton and London, I've turned my back on city life relocated back to the rural Durham countryside to live at a slower pace.

I'm hoping to continue floristry by using traditional seasonal practices. No single use plastics or floral foam. I'll be providing Wedding flowers and Farewell flowers as well as lots of workshops and short courses.

Connecting to the countryside also means growing my own flowers and importing less from Holland and Ecuador where the majority of the UK's flowers are grown.

Until the 1970's we grew our own flowers in the UK now we fly them in. Crazy isn't it? Buying local flowers means less airmiles and because they are not refrigerated the smell like flowers!
